Overview
Who am I?
Hi, my name is Ned and my website (http://nedmellingblogs.co.uk) is designed for the sole purpose of presenting all my written blog content for anyone to view. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer and please feel free to leave a comment!
Comments
When you leave comments on my site, I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also from your visitor IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Who I share your data with
I do not manually share your data with any third-party organisations. The Gravatar service may collect a hash from your associated email address, however, this is an independent process that I do not personally control.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments on my website, you can request to have the comments removed. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for legal or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service and stored on the website database for an indefinite period of time.
